How is Vitrelle Glass Made?

Vitrelle glass is made from three fused layers of glass:

• Outer layers (top and bottom): Made from tempered aluminosilicate glass — the same family of glass used in smartphone screens and aircraft windows. Extremely hard, scratch-resistant and thermally stable.
• Middle layer: A compressed glass-ceramic core that provides structural integrity and prevents the plate from shattering into sharp shards if it does break.

Why is Vitrelle Glass So Strong?

The three-layer composite structure means that if force is applied to a Vitrelle plate — from a knock, a bump or a drop — the energy is distributed across all three layers rather than concentrating at one point.
