Before we talk fakes, a quick reminder of why Corelle is worth protecting. It is three times stronger than regular ceramic, non-porous, completely resistant to turmeric stains and so lightweight that picking up a dinner plate feels almost suspicious.

Sign 1 — The Weight Test

Sign 4 — The Transparency Test

Hold a genuine Corelle plate up to a light source. You will notice it is very slightly translucent — you can see light passing through it faintly. This is a characteristic of Vitrelle® glass that fakes cannot replicate. Fakes will appear completely opaque and dull.

Sign 5 — The Packaging

Genuine Corelle always comes in branded Corelle packaging — with the Corelle logo, product name, piece count and "Made by World Kitchen" or "Made by Corelle Brands" printed clearly. The fonts are clean and professional.

Fakes often come in generic boxes, misspelled branding, or no packaging at all. If someone is selling you "Corelle" wrapped in newspaper — run.

Sign 6 — The Pattern Quality

Genuine Corelle patterns are sharp, vibrant and perfectly printed. The colours are consistent across every piece in the set. Fakes often have slightly blurry patterns, inconsistent colours between plates or patterns that look slightly off-centre.

Look closely at the border pattern on two plates side by side. On genuine Corelle they will match perfectly. On fakes they will not.

Sign 7 — The Price

If someone is selling you a Corelle 16-piece set for PKR 8,000 and calling it genuine, it is not genuine. Real Corelle sets start from around PKR 22,000 for a 16-piece set. If the price sounds too good to be true, it absolutely is.
